Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Cardiac Physiologist at Nanotek Ltd in Leicester and the surrounding area. The Cardiac Physiologist will be responsible for conducting non-invasive cardiology procedures, assisting in the Cath Lab, and working within the National Health Service (NHS) guidelines.
Duties:
· To independently perform a wide variety of cardiology tests, both invasive and non-invasive, working independently in community clinics.
· Responsible for and have a care of duty of patients whilst carrying out all cardiac investigations.
· To obtain formal/informal consent for procedures, and to check for any contra-indications for the tests.
· During investigations to ensure that diagnostic results are produced, and to terminate test if it is no longer safe to continue.
· Require high level of hand-eye co-ordination combined with spatial awareness required to obtain diagnostic images in echocardiography, and physiological measurements.
· Independently perform Echocardiograms and provide highly complex reports on difficult/complex medical heart pathologies, which must be accurate as the results can affect patient’s medical therapy /treatment. These highly complex, scanning images must be accurately analysed and reported.
· Present complex, and interesting echo cases in Echo meetings to other Physiologists.
· Maintain and calibrate the equipment used to perform diagnostic tests and procedures
Candidate Criteria:
· Hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Clinical Physiology.
· Have passed the ASCST Cardiac Society Professional exam.
· Be registered with the RCCP (Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists).
· Be working towards BSE (British Society of Echocardiography) accreditation.
· Regularly attend courses to keep up to date with new advances and theories related to all invasive and non-invasive tests carried out daily.
· Have extensive knowledge of cardiology.
· Have developed additional specialized knowledge across a broad range of cardiac investigations, underpinned by theoretical knowledge or experience.

- Knowledge of Non-invasive Cardiology and Cath Lab procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant certification in Cardiac Physiology
- Attention to detail and analytical skills
