Job Description

Group Financial Controller

** Salary £60 - £80K p.a **

** Candidates MUST be UK based and have FULL UK working rights **

Candidate Criteria:

 

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

- Proven experience as a Finance Director or a similar senior role.

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to lead and motivate the finance team.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address financial challenges.

- In-depth understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles.

 

Duties:

 

1. Modernise and streamline the accounts team: Implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance department. Identify and adopt modern accounting practices and technology to enhance productivity.

 

2. Ensure timely production of management reports: Oversee the preparation and delivery of accurate and insightful management reports to aid in decision-making processes.

 

3. Manage and maintain efficient staff levels and productivity: Oversee the finance team, ensure appropriate staffing levels, and foster a productive and collaborative work environment.

 

4. Oversee the delivery of month-end deadlines: Ensure the timely completion of month-end processes, including financial reconciliations and reporting, to facilitate smooth financial operations.

 

5. Assist in preparation of information for auditors: Collaborate with the audit team to provide necessary financial data and support during the audit process.

 

6. Submission of monthly VAT returns: Ensure compliance with tax regulations by accurately preparing and submitting monthly VAT returns.

 

7. Stock movement reconciliation: Oversee the reconciliation of stock movements and ensure accurate accounting of inventory.

 

8. Cashflow forecasting: Develop and maintain cash flow forecasting models to support financial planning and decision-making.

 

9. Provide financial advice and support to senior management: Offer expert financial insights and guidance to aid senior management in strategic planning and business decisions.

 

10. Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements and reports: Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

 

11. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies: Monitor and enforce compliance with relevant financial regulations, company policies, and procedures.

 

12. Identify and implement process improvements: Continuously review finance-related processes and identify opportunities for improvement to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
