Product Test Engineer

Our client is a leading Manufacturer and Distributor of Compressors, Generators and Electrical Equipment.
 
Increased growth has led to the opening of a new role for a Product Test Engineer to join their Eat London based operation:
 
Candidate Criteria:

* Must be familiar with the design, construction and use of electrical power tools, mechanical equipment and light industrial machinery.

•Be able to interpret the requirements of European safety standards / product directives and apply these in terms of product design, functionality and safety.

•Mechanical/electrical understanding of associated product/equipment.

•Excellent written and oral communication skills.

•Be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office software.

Job Role:

 

The primary function of this role is to evaluate new products for their suitability for introduction into the range and to provide Technical support to the Service, Marketing and Product Buying Departments. 

The role would be ideally suited to a qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer, previous experience working as a Test Engineer would be an advantage.

Knowledge of CE marking directives and working to European Product standards would be advantageous as well as experience working on imported consumer products.

The role would be ideally suited to a qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with previous experience working as a Test Engineer or Manager.

•To carry out electrical and mechanical function testing to a variety of electrical and mechanical products and devices

•Evaluating proposed new products for introduction into the Market

•Testing the safety, design, performance and compliance of new products

•Evaluating modifications / design changes on existing product range

•Compiling reports, findings on all tests conducted. Updating product test log and Technical files

•Maintain excellent working relationships throughout the business at all levels to ensure all quality / test needs and requirements are met swiftly and efficiently
